I decided to smarten up my bathroom as the grout was starting to fail in the wet room and I must take it out of use for some time. I bought a Croydon 'Pendle' glass shelf to go over the sink.

The first one was damaged - note, not bought via Amazon - so had to be returned. The glass had small chips along one long edge and a large chunk missing from one end. It wasn't clear whether this was a manufacturing fault, transit damage or something else. The second one was perfect and was installed quickly and easily.

As I'm not confident about glue, shelves and damp places I decided to use screws. It is very secure, looks great and will look superb with a stainless steel mirrored cabinet above it.

I have always associated Croydex with quality. This product is up to the standard I anticipate from them. I will, almost certainly buy some more matching fittings, in the future, confident that whatever I buy will be high quality, easy to fit and easy to...

Suffered 'kettling' noises from central heating system over Christmas, with family staying! Tried bleeding, Pump speed etc, then added this treatment, Wow, it works straight away. Simply squirt into radiator (via bleed screw, after operating rad valves to isolate) takes approx one minute! better than paying a Plumber, but it is still expensive for a tube of goo. Overall a great solution, depending on how long it lasts.

Product Review: Pretty Good - I can now program the time the heating is on in each room independently
Only had them for a few days but I like these, I can now have a nice warm bedroom at night without heating the rest of my house.
I am very happy I bought them, there are a few niggles that I will mention but I would definitely recommend these.
Negatives
1: You need thermostatic radiator valves on your radiators first, these just replace the head.
2: They are awkward to program - this has taken by far the longest of the installation, the only interface is LED flashes and I now have to keep a spreadsheet of the settings
3: The grey button sits over a hole, this doesn't look good if you have horizontal valve heads
4: I ordered 4 remotes, one came with dead batteries, this would have thrown me if it had been the first one I tried
5: They are awkward to thread, I found it easiest to thread the ring (and spacer) a half turn first then put the valve in, then put the pegs in, then tighten the ring.

Product Review: Built to last pump
Many years ago I bought another model Draper submersible after two Italian made surface pumps did not last long. I'm happy to say the Draper is still working without a glitch, that is why I got Draper for this job.

This pump was delivered with a bent plug but that was due to poor packaging by amazon and the 'soft touch' courier. Replacement was efficient and . . . . the replacement also arrived in the same poor packaging ?!

This pump looks and feels well engineered and made to last. I will get Draper again and highly recommend this pump.

Product Review: Looks the part
This has a telescopic neck that will raise and lower approx 6" so that it marries in with existing pipe work. I have the old "32mm" waste pipe which is actually 30mm internally and 35mm externally so it was a bit of a problem to get it to fit on to that as it is designed for pipe that is 32mm internal diameter whilst external is 37mm. Yes, 2mm will make the difference between fitting and not fitting! I managed to make the connection with a bit of modification.
Apart from that, it looks good, is easy to work with and if your waste trap is in a conspicuous position then it could justify the expense.

This pump is very functional in my small pond but prone to the filter clogging up sometimes 3 times a day. To clear this involves unclipping the end cover using a knife, removing the specially shaped sponge for washing under the tap and refitting in reverse. Tedious!

Product Review: underfloor heating
All seems very simple, uncoiling the pipe needs 2 people and you need to have planned the route before you start, twisting in the clips hurt your hands after a while and I used all 300 so wearing a pair of gloves helps. Coonecting up the pump has been easy all push fit, you do have to use a bit of pressure to get the pipes to go home and must use the inserts. Pressure tested for 24 hours at 6 bar and left under pressure when the floor was screeded, it did drop a bit but probably due to temperature change, no leaks and still a good 5 bar next morning so release prressure, disconnect and send the pump back to the hire company. Not able to use it for 3 weeks until the screed has fully cured but can't see there being any problems, just need to remember that the thermostat needs a 3 core cable

I took a risk and brought this on spec from the information on Amazon.

I had a job to remove three sets of taps and for the first time I found that my existing basin wrenches weren't up to the job. On two basins there just physically wasn't room to turn the wrench without striking the porcelain.

This kit did the job perfectly and easily. The back nut that winds onto the threaded pipe below the tap ensures that the socket cannot twist or rock out of line. So all of the force is directed to undoing the nut.

A great bit of kit. Could be cheaper but it is well engineered.

The plastic box it comes in has flimsy catches, for the money it could have come in a metal box with proper fasteners but I am so pleased with the efficient way it does the job I'm prepared to forgive it.

Product Review: Does exactly what it says on the, er, instruction leaflet!!! Very good indeed!!!
Had two tap glands to change on upstairs sink; I'm not a plumber, but I do like to have a go at stuff.. First one, using a combination of numerous medium-sized tools, application of heat, mild use of hammer, mild swearing, eventually sorted. Second one - applied all above, wouldn't budge. Tried larger tools, more heat, more hammer and much more swearing - still wouldn't budge. Now I really,really didn't want to change the whole tap so turned to every amateur plumber's friend, the internet. I found this little gadget on Youtube, twenty-odd quid, thought I'd give it a go.
Arrived in a couple of days; first impressions were not great, looks a little too basic and small, instructions also basic but OK. Waited until after the weekend, when I had the house to myself, just in case things got serious and/or I needed to call in a professional (got three on my street!) Product Review: does what you would expect
Its a kit to replace a split diaphram for a whale bilge pump - everything included plus a couple of spare circlips. You also get all the other rubber parts so you can completely overhaul the pump. Shame the price is not far of the cost of a pump :-)

Product Review: Space saver Toilet Seat
It arrived well before the expected date, packaging was superb, no risk of damage. The product itself was perfect, fitting instructions were clear and accurate and all in all I am delighted with it, which I confess is rather sad when you think it is a toilet seat, but having experienced great difficulty in getting this from the manufacturer, who were less than helpful, and also having contacted numerous bathroom suppliers and plumbers, none of whom came back to me. Absolutely thrilled with the product and the service provided. Thank you
